divorce NFA situation

Have a client going through rough times. Recent divorce with some extra baggage. He owns a transferrable Thompson under his name (not on a trust) and judge has instructed him to sell it under the divorce proceedings. To further complicate matters his psychiatrist has determined that he should not be in possession since he has expressed some suicidal thoughts. Court has appointed a "receiver" to handle the sale. She knows nothing about the process and is not an FFL/SOT. Where can the firearm be legally stored while all this is settled? I know I can't take it in and store it for him. Thoughts?
