NESA BAR receiver are made from ArmaSteel

From my references it appears that WWII production NESA BAR receivers were made from ArmaSteel rather than the high grade gun steel used in pre-war production.
That was done to save costs and allow strategic materials to be put to other higher priority uses.
BTW - They tried to use Armasteel for other weapons (e.g., M1 carbine receivers) but it never went into production.
