Last week at the Hernando July 4th MG shoot, ran into a "contractor" fresh back from Iraq. He sold me parts from a de-milled Russian RPG-7. I got the trigger group, rear handle with optical slide mount rail, front sight w/ bracket, rear sight with bracket and an intact, working Russian optical sight. Also got a de-milled warhead cone with Russian markings that was given to him by the ord spec who diffused it...very cool. Also got a footlocker partially filled with desert sand, again from Iraq or Afghanistan, he wasn't specific......he could tell me, but would then have to kill me :)
I've since bought the bipod on GB and some hand guards & a sling from Northridge. They have the brackets and other misc parts, but a bit pricey. I have seen the complete demilled units at the Creek, and the demilled RPG-7 that Gun Parts Corp has on GB for 800+ clams.
Question: other than using PVC tubing and and milling / digital printing the parts I need to build a nice repro, using what I already have....does anyone have a source for the de-milled tube, rear blast cone, and other tid-bits I need to make a reasonable repro. I have already seen what parts Gun Parts and Northridge have to offer. I have a complete Chinese rocket with booster and fins to slide down the muzzle when finished, which I got at the Creek last October, but I'll go looking for a Russian rocket, when I go back to KCR this October. Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance, Ted
