Never use any kind of oil on ammo. Most oils will creep and can easily get inside of ammo, even that with sealed primers.
Magazines are another no-no. When cleaning magazines they should be left dry inside and the spring should only get a wipedown with a lightly oiled cloth. No part of the magazine should be wet with oil.
Also, heavily oiling guns with wood stocks is also not a good idea. Something like an 870 or 742 left standing on the butt will let the oil creep into the wrist of the stock.
