In Response To: Shooting .22 through Abraxas question - ctxt (dragoon ( Abandon hope all ye who enter ))
I've shot quite a bit of .22's through an Abraxas on an XM15 A1 select fire with a Ciener .22 kit installed. It did very well suppressing noise, was just a pain in the ass having to re-grease it all the time. I do have a nylon insertion grease tool, just a stem with holes drilled evenly in it with a grease insert on the end, just snap it on a mini- grease gun and a couple of pumps in each end. With the 9mm drilling size and the lithium grease it hasn't fouled at all. I did finally pretty much made a useless can out of a 5.56 AWC suppressor by running too many .22 rimfires through it, carbon build-up on the baffles, accuracy suffered greatly, took a drill bit and hand turned it through several times getting the carbon out, still affected accuracy and noise suppression. Learned a lesson.
