Target distance rules

Hello;

Looking for resources that offer recommendations for distances of target placement for subgun matches.

I'll soon be participating in a meeting with some classic "Fudds", would like to have further documentation more than the old NFA Rule Book and the just about as old AC3A rule book. I've written to several ranges that hold sub gun matches, no response, thought I would post here and see what kind of response I might get.

We don't shoot a lot of steel, mainly due to it's weight and my bad back, but we do shoot a lot of cardboard, clay pigeons, and the plastic Newbold targets, this one Fudd just has an absolute fit that we place our targets 10-20 yards away to shoot with subguns, how some people can be so belligerent and combative about something as simple as this is beyond me.

Although they refuse to understand and accept that there really are firearms other than over / under sporting clays guns, the President and majority of the Board agrees with the idea of other shooting disciplines, and we have proven ourselves in the past time and time again as safe and responsible shooters. While Sporting Clays is not a discipline I participate in, I have no issue with it, I accept all types of shooting, some areas just aren't for me. I don't go trying to administrate what others do, but then again, I do have a life as well.

Thank You in advance

Bob
